Last Minute Signage and Banners for a Baseball Stadium

The Client: The Akron Rubber Ducks / City of Akron

The Challenge: After their previous contractors pulled out of the project at the last minute, The Akron Rubber Ducks needed someone to step in and help complete the restaurant inside their stadium. Not to mention another last-minute project came through that needed to be done the very next day.

The Solution: GDI stepped in towards the end of the project and created signage and banners for the restaurant and the stadium. GDI’s designers worked with the Akron Rubber Ducks to adjust on-site measurements and create a unique restaurant experience with booths, tables for The Game Grill + Bar inside the Akron Rubber Ducks stadium.

The Results: Working with a very short, 8 week timeline, GDI worked quickly and efficiently in order to produce a unique restaurant experience that the Akron Rubber Ducks could be proud to show off. While GDI was originally contracted to produce awnings and signs, the project quickly turned into something bigger when the previous contractors could no longer fulfill their obligation.

But the story doesn’t end there. The day before Opening Day, the owner of the stadium contacted GDI with an emergency banner project that, due to advertising legalities, needed to be displayed the next day. GDI was able to construct the graphics, print the sign and install it just in time for the first pitch.

The Conclusion: GDI was able to work on a short timeline in order to ensure that the client was able to open and run their business efficiently. While the 8 week deadline to construct an entire restaurant with signage and awnings was impressive in itself, it was the next day banner manufacturing and installation that really impressed the owner of the Akron Rubber Ducks and showcased GDI’s true abilities in lightning-fast turnaround time.
